Requirements
Must have:
- We require a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or a Masters degree in one of these areas with at least 2 years of industry experience, or a Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of industry experience. - We need 2-5 years of robust FPGA and SoC design experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL. - We look for 2-5 years of hands-on experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) FPGA devices, tools, and ecosystems, such as ModelSim, Intel Quartus, and Xilinx Vivado. - We require 2-5 years of strong digital logic design knowledge, including finite state machines, pipelining, and resource efficiency. - We need 2-5 years of experience with RTL simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure. - We look for 2-5 years of knowledge of clock domain crossing techniques and metastability reduction methods. - We require 2-5 years of familiarity with high-speed and standard interfaces, including UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PCIe, and DDR. - We need 2-5 years of experience creating testbenches and conducting functional verification. - We look for 2-5 years of proficiency with on-chip debugging tools such as ILA and SignalTap. - We require 2-5 years of experience reading and interpreting schematics, timing diagrams, and hardware datasheets. - We need 2-5 years of experience using version control systems, with Git preferred. - We look for 2-5 years of experience with high-level synthesis tools and algorithm-to-hardware workflows, including Vitis HLS and integration with MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design and verification. - We prefer experience developing real-time embedded applications and systems on microcontrollers, FPGAs, x86, and/or ARM processors. - We value strong embedded programming ability in languages such as C, C , C#, and Python. - We prefer experience with Linux build systems, such as Yocto, and working knowledge of Linux driver and/or kernel development. - We value experience writing firmware and performing low-level programming for microcontrollers. - We prefer working knowledge of real-time operating systems such as QNX, RTLinux, or VxWorks. - We value familiarity with virtualization technologies, including hypervisors and Docker containers. - We prefer experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Jenkins. - We require legal authorization to work in the United States and cannot sponsor Bachelors-level candidates for employment visas now or in the future. - We require willingness to work from our office in Niskayuna, New York.
Responsibilities:
- We develop FPGA-based solutions for embedded systems and industrial control systems. - We use FPGA design tools to build, simulate, test, and refine real-time embedded systems. - We shape and pursue external R\&D opportunities with U.S. government agencies such as the DOE and DOD. - We work with our business teams to move real-time embedded controls and communication technologies from lab proof-of-concept to field-ready prototypes. - We collaborate with universities, industrial consortiums, commercial partners, and other organizations to advance embedded systems technology. - We publish technical articles, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities.
