The Director of Business Development is a senior revenue leader responsible for building and scaling Small Biz Heroes' Partner Channel.

This role is designed for an experienced alternative finance professional who understands partner dynamics, lender positioning, and structured capital solutions. The Director of Business Development will recruit referral partners, activate submissions, close partner-sourced funding deals, and drive measurable channel revenue growth.

This position blends production and leadership development. Initially, the Director will operate as a high-level producer while building the foundation for a future Business Development team.

Partner channel revenue

Active producing partners

New partner acquisition

Partner reactivation

🎯 What You'll Do As Director of Business Development, you will:

Recruit and close new referral partners

Activate new partners quickly and drive first submissions

Reactivate dormant partners

Manage and grow your partner portfolio

Close partner-sourced funding deals

Assist with overflow deal volume when necessary

Educate partners on deal quality and positioning

Track all activity and pipeline within Close CRM

Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and CEO

Lay the foundation to eventually build and lead a Business Development team

Key Responsibilities Partner Acquisition \& Activation Recruit and close new referral partners

Onboard and activate new partners quickly

Structure and present capital solutions responsibly

Collaborate with underwriting and processing to drive clean file movement

Deal Execution Support Assist with overflow direct inbound when necessary

Ensure partner deals are structured responsibly and efficiently

Maintain strong communication standards across all stakeholders

Support the long-term buildout of the Partner Channel division
