LOCUM BUS DRIVER

CHILDREN'S/TRANSPORT SERVICES

The Role:

Minibus Driver.

Location:

Children's Services / Transport Services.

Reporting To:

Transport Manager/Children's Services Manager/Children Service Coordinator or delegate.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean manual Irish Drivers Licence - Class D1. Candidates must have completed their CPC examinations/modules and must hold the CPC Qualification Card. This must be available at interview.

Experience:

Candidates must have adequate training and driving experience to enable him/her to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post.

Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is an advantage.

Tenure:

It is proposed to set up a locum panel of Drivers who will be called if and when required to cover for staff on various leave within the Services.

Working Hours:

Hours will be rostered on a locum basis, as and when required as per service needs. Hours will be mainly rostered Monday to Friday. However weekend and evening work may be required from time to time. The shifts may vary due to the changing needs of the people supported. The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

22 days pro-rata per annum.

Remuneration:

Department of Health Driver (Patients/Clients Public Roads) 01/02/2026 - salary scale - €36,288 x 8 increments - € 45,484 pro-rata per annum.

Probation:

A probationary period of 9 months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.

Driving Assessment:

Applicants may be required to undergo a Minibus Driving assessment by an Assessor nominated by Corlann.
